Make the connection
Land on the destination tone on beat 1. On beat 4, play the departure tone of the current chord, then connect to the next chord’s destination tone. For 7–3, that means third → seventh → next chord’s third. The count-in starts you on the first chord’s third. When two chords share a bar, play the landing tone on beat 1 or 3, then the departure tone on beat 2 or 4. Each card shows the exact beats.
Cycle mode practices 7–3, 7–5, 7–1, 3–7, 5–3, 3–5, 3–1 and 1–7. Each pair repeats for your chosen number of loops. Notes use nearby octaves; a larger leap is shown honestly when the chosen pair requires one.
Synthesized rhythm section: walking bass and swing drums, or bossa bass and drums, with chord backing. No microphone grading. Ten standards with complete practice choruses. Extended and altered chords are simplified to their four-note foundations for these exercises. Changes and turnarounds vary between charts; these are practice versions, not verified copies of your personal charts. These are generated practice grooves, not recorded musicians. Speech timing depends on your browser; visual cues and backing use the playback clock. Stop playback before changing lesson settings.
